I take the Bus, Skytrain and Seabus everyday. I cannot imagine getting through it without my music. I discovered Coconut Records in April through the internet. Its a great listen while in transit. I love putting soundtracks on the "little adventures" of my commute. I put my iPod on "shuffle mode" and somehow the music just goes with everything, walking running, people watching, people pushing, and so on.. so here's the video. May skate pa!

I hate it when it happens. I find that this has happened waaay too often to me.
Sometimes my ideas have been stolen... on rare occasions i've lost my dignity (ha!)... most of the time i lose material things... now i hope this time no one steals my identity (its a popular crime here, eep!)
My bag was stolen. Let's just say it was stolen because i was careless. In my bag, i had my wallet, with my PR card, my SIN card, my bank card, my Philippine License, and some sentimental shit. I also lost my ipod among other stuff in my bag. My house keys with my special keychains were in there too. I had just bought a pack of cigarettes today, they're not cheap either. I filed a report with the police already and did the routine of calling banks blah blah blah. its such a hassle.
I just really have to rant because i'm trying to save money here but everyday it just seems harder and harder to do that. Life here just requires me to spend all the time. baah.
i know all those things are replaceable, maybe i'm just being taught a lesson here. hay.
but of all the things lost in that bag, i feel really bad about losing my music. :(
Well, ive been in Canada for almost 4 months now. Those three months have gone by so fast, i didnt realise i'll be going into the 4th in a few weeks.
How has it been?
See, everytime im on the train going home from work, i keep telling myself.."i have to blog about this." And i try and compose the stories and adventures i want to share in my head... but by the time i get home, i get really lazy because i have to eat dinner, wash the dishes, check my mail and try and work on my portfolio. The truth is i only get to the dinner and washing dishes part before i fall asleep. So, yeah i totally missed out sharing the funny moments and the sadder moments and those fun random moments.
I wish i had my Camera, its an easier way for me to share my stories.
I'll try and summarize the little adventures, discoveries, re-discoveries, and even the misadventures on here as often as i can so that when i get old i can go back here and show my grandchildren. hehe.
** I caught this shoplifter the other day trying to steal some caps from our shop. He was sketchy the minute he came in so I felt that i needed to keep an eye on him. He was over by the caps and i approached him asking if he needed any help. He asked for the prices and what were the cheaper caps. I showed him and walked away. Then i heard a zipper open and when i quickly looked, his hand was in his bag. I walked slowly behind him and took a closer look. i said, " hey man, you might want to take that cap out of your bag." he turned around and said, "huh?" i just repeated what i said and true enough there were two Lost caps in his bag, he handed them to me and kept saying sorry. I started yelling for my boss in the back and i knew the thief was inching his way to the door (which was right behind me) so while i was yelling i was inching my way to BLOCK him from going out the door. Then i know i told him he had to stay put... and before i knew it, he pushed me away. I was able to grab his arm as he was going out the door. And like in the movies, i lost my grip and ended up holding on to the arm of his jacket while he was making a mad dash for the street. i was able to chase him for a while before i started losing my breath, just as i thought he was going to get away, my boss came running from behind me and continued the chase from there.
the thief was caught and he ended up crying. ha!
* i am finally going surfing June 1,2 and 3 with Dave (my boss) and his girlfriend. woohooo.
*the sun was out all weekend and it was 26 degrees here! it made me homesick.
anyway, my brain is tired now so, i'll continue this some other time.
Canada is a nice place. It's not as easy as i thought it would be starting over in a new place. There's so much to do, so much to explore, so many things to try. I just gotta figure out what i want to conquer first. I wish my friends were all here though. even for one day...
As i sit here, i procrastinate for a while to fill up this blog with 10 random facts about me. Kagey, this is for you but im sure you already know these. I answered a similar post years back but i think ill just paste some here.

1. Aya had a fight with her younger sister's imaginary enemy when she was about 6 years old. Lemme explain, you know how kids have imaginary friends right? Well, my sister had an imaginary ENEMY and his name was Jackulasta. (don't ask me why) anyway i can clearly remember my sister crying and telling me how Jackulasta was bothering her and picking fights with her I tried my best to do my part as the "ate" and had an imaginary fight with Jackulasta, I pretended to have grabbed him by the neck and proceeded to "pretend" punching him in the face several times in the face till my sister stopped crying. (the weird thing is, i remember how he looked.. i guess i saw him too)
2. Aya cannot wake up just once in the morning, she HAS to go back to sleep and thenwake up again. I just cant. That's the best part of my sleep, the "going back to sleep part." It's hard to explain..its like i feel my "sleep" more that way.
3. Aya used to have this GREAT FEAR of nuns. As in, mortified of them..to the point i would cry. Nuns in white/light gray/light blue habits and dresses are an exemption.Now, its more of a grossed out feeling. I still freak out when i see a nun in all black or brown. it's just really icky for me. I most especially hate it when they pull surprise attacks on me, for example they just show up in a movie house, or the mall, or the walkway in Cloud 9 unexpected! (this really happened)
4. Aya as a kid had this thing with other people's feet, she loved them! I would ask my titos, titas and parents if i could play with their feet..i would gladly give them massages,foot rubs and would even hug other people's feet (clean ones of course!) i'm pretty glad i grew out of that one..
5. Aya loves to eat uncooked noodles. Don't laugh! I haven't done this in a while, but what i used to do was get those maggi or lucky me noodles, break them into pieces while they were still in the packets and mix the powdered seasoning and shake. Instant snack! I used to also go into the kitchen and grab uncooked spaghetti noodles and chew on them like how bugs bunny would chew on a carrot.
6. Aya has broken both thumbs and both pinkies in separate incidents. I broke my left thumb during quarterly exams and had to answer all my tests with my right hand...that's why i can also write with my right hand. The only thing i do the left-handed way is write/draw/eat. Everything else i do the right-handed way.
7. Aya is bungi.
I lost my left front tooth surfing about 2 years ago. Apparently, as Kage and i found out..teeth do not float. Ive got a replacement one now, the dentist used fibercloth and resin to put it in place. Cool noh?
8. Aya once sang in an elementary talent show the Alphabet song in a white dress with musical notes on them.
For those of you who do not know, the Alphabet song starts like this: "A you're adorable, B you're so beautiful, and C you're so cute and full of charm..."blah blah blah. I will never ever live that down from my former classmates. I blame my mom for this hahaha.
9. Aya can play the violin.
I took violin lessons throughout elementary. I still have my violin, now if only i could still play it...
10. Aya had the sickest pair of denim boots when she was 7.
Yep, i looooved them so much I'd wear them around the house, watching tv, eating , playing with my toys. I even whipped them out proudly when i'd go over a friend's or a cousins house. It even had a pocket. They were pointy blue denim boots. I would wear them with cycling shorts. hahaha.

Yeah yeah! I've got another temporary job for tomorrow. I got a call from my cousin earlier, "You're going curling tomorrow." What is curling you ask? Watch the video.
A few weeks before i left Manila, Jp and i came across a game of curling televised on some cable channel. We were so baffled at this sport. What's with the intense sweeping??? I guess now i'm gonna find out first hand how this sport goes. this should be fun!

Dom introduced this song to me last Independence day long weekend and ive been hooked on this band ever since. Its got just the right amount of funky basslines, guitar leads and drumbeats and soothing vocals. Perfect for those long drives on a hot sunny day to your favorite surf spot! I remember we were listening to this at the Point in La Union :)
Tahiti 80 is an English-language French pop group formed in 1993 in Rouen, France.

THIS EVENT IS FOR EVERYONE, if you love just the idea of hanging out at the beach then you should go. it's only a two hour drive. Its basically just one big beach party, not par-teh type of party..hehe. Bring a bunch of your friends, roll out a beach mat or a sarong while drinking cold beer on a hot sunny day. Or better yet come and join the beach games MSA and ZSA has set up. hehe.
Calvin and Hobbes were a HUGE part of my early teenage years. I remember reading my Calvin and Hobbes books to my little brother anton when he was 4-5 years old. Now, he's read most of them by himself. I love the way Calvin sees the world. I wish i had his creative imagination :)

Last August, i lost my front tooth
while surfing Pundaquit. The rail of my board hit my mouth, fracturing
some bone in my gums and causing my front tooth to fall off and
sink to the bottom of the ocean. hehe. it really was a freak
accident..didnt hurt much. I went through shock at first but hey, its
another great story to tell the grandkids, right?
ANYWAY, earlier today my dentist was explaining what procedures i was
going to go through in getting my brand new tooth. My eyes widened and
i gave a big smile when somewhere amongst those medical jargons i
recognized two words: FIBERCLOTH and RESIN. I couldn't stop myself and excitedly
told her, "hey that's what surfers use to repair dings!" (holes or
damaged parts of a surfboard) My dentist said, "i know..."
and smiled.
So there..hehe. what a coincidence.
hey kim, i guess Jong and Lui could've really fixed my tooth afterall, huh? hahahaha.
