today, my family went to have lunch with the garcia's side today..i had fun, the food was great, my brother had fun swimming and wrestling in the pool with jaime and martin, and there was plenty of coke(soda). But the thing i liked the best was bonding with my other relatives. i mean i haven't seen them in such a loong time, it felt good hearing the latest chismis and going over the titos' and titas' "when you're dad was young.." stories again.
My dad. Hmmm..i dont really show it, but i really admire him. He's usually the quiet one in the family, my mom gets the say around here. i kinda feel sorry for him sometimes because us "girls" (mom, me, and anna) probably drive him crazy. anton is a whole different story..haha. But he is such a sweet man. He has done so much for us, yet he stays humble. He has done many things and helped so many people..he has worked with some of the greatest talents in the Philippines, lighted some of the biggest concerts here and put his three children in good schools and a comfy home. Still he takes a cab when one of his kids cant get to school or he lets us all eat the pizza first and finishes the leftovers. when i ask for money sometimes he empties his pockets and even if there's only 57 pesos in there, he hands it all to me up until the last piso. He is really thoughtful and a real pleaser...always worried that our computers arent fast enough, that i dont have a way to school, or worried that i dont get enough sleep. Me on the other hand, i dont treat him as well. and i feel bad. Seeing him with his brothers and sisters again was really nice. he got the attention he really needed.
the other day, he was bragging how he had this health check up and how he did so well..the doctor told him he "had the heart of a teenager". i just smiled and said "that's great dad.." and went on with what i was doing..but deep inside i thought "thank God!!!", because i cant imagine losing him at all.
Yea, he has these weird moods, he cracks the corniest jokes, and he has smelly feet. but i love my dad for that and so much more.
